Refurbishing and designing

We’ve already had such wonderful response and support for our new range and the restaurant. We spent the weekend tearing the sit out of the loft - now tired, bruised, bleeding, and stiff we have a moment to think about the furniture we’ll be making and selling. We’re still collecting references and ideas and we’ll do this below.

STILLLIFE

Our new concept eatery will be opening in May.
Like Mess you can expect a long table of 24ish people, daily menus, unexpected meals and bottles and bottles of wine. The location will be our new loft in Bree Street JHB on the north facing side of the 17th floor. Were currently revamping the space and cant wait to show it off.

The food style will shift away from cheerful Mediterranean to a more sombre Lutheran kind of winter menu, inspired by old masters and Flemish still lives.
The concept is STILLLIFE: Like a painting gently lit, carefully composed - a life ordered and gentle.

No more BYOB: We’ll have carefully chosen, small-estate wines, the range of &Union beers, sparkling water. [All the wine and beer will also be available by the case to take home.]

QUILTER AND WORKMAN will open the first weekend of each month. Bookings are now open for May:

FRIDAY 6th: - Dinner -

SATURDAY 7th: High Tea & - Dinner -

SUNDAY 8th: Lunch

RESERATIONS: jonathancanegreenoil@gmail.com

As before unfortunately no requests, no special meals, and we cannot cater for vegetarians etc (unless the entire menu is vegetarian - which is possible). There are no waiters, or anyone to serve you. The food will sometimes be challenging - but always rewarding.
